Samui Projects was founded by Hugh Kingsley-Heath in 2003. Hugh has over 25 years experience as a construction engineer, initially joining Taylor Woodrow Management Contracting Ltd based in London in 1990. He has worked on award winning projects as a Site Engineer (British Construction Industry Award winner in 1992).
After achieving his initial profession qualifications in the UK, Hugh moved to Southeast Asia in 1997. Since then he has worked with world leading international construction companies and professionals on major commercial and residential projects in Hong Kong, Singapore, the Philippines, Japan, Doha and most extensively Thailand (notably the new Bangkok International Airport – Suvarnabhumi).
Since 2002, Hugh has been based in Samui, where he has both consulted to and worked on the development of hotel, private estate, private island designs and built multimillion dollar houses without using sub contractors but directly employing and managing Thai teams. This experience of working with the local trades, combined with his ability to communicate fluently in Thai and English with local construction teams, make his invaluable experience and skill set unique on Samui.
His Residential Development Degree from Nottingham University, UK allowed him Chartered Institute of Building (MCIOB) affiliation in 2003 and part approval by the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors in 1995 (RICS).
Since the early 2000s Hugh has developed a wide range of local municipal government, professional and business contacts around the island. He is married to Kay and is the devoted father of a small son. His dog Cesar is a noted landmark in his own right in the south of the Island and can frequently be seen adorning the roof of Hugh’s car.

- Daily consulting rate fee (no half day) THB 12,000/day.
- For 5 consecutive working days, our rate is automatically reduced to THB 10,000/day.
- House and property condition survey from THB 20,000.
- Detailed defects list with rectification designs from THB 50,000.
- Topographical surveys from THB 10,000 per rai (1600m2).
- House and property concept designs from THB 50,000.
